IDTOLU began in the small and beautiful city of Santiago de Tolú, located on the Caribbean Sea in Colombia, South America. The company’s founder, Juan Alviz, realized he was surrounded by incredible raw talent. He brought together a team of engineers, researchers, designers, and passionate, ambitious entrepreneurs to start a business journey. To begin, the team naturally started with a Research and Development (R&D) technology lab in Tolú to create a center for innovation and technological development while helping to train raw talent to become world-class technological talent.
Mr. Alviz is driven by a desire to change the world for the better. His vision of Innovation and Development with Advanced Technologies for those who were underserved with the benefits of technological advancements was compelling to the founding team. This inspired the company’s name as IDTOLU.
IDTOLU began working on innovative solutions to access issues, delivering value to the common person in rural and urban settings, while working hard to keep the costs of technological solutions low. Mr. Alviz found that, in addition to the company’s own contributions, it was useful to establish public-private partnerships and partnerships with universities and local governments to create an ecosystem to provide affordable and innovative access to the benefits of 5G technology.
IDTOLU established a state-of-the-art 5G innovation and cloud facility equipped with the latest tools and equipment. The IDTOLU team develops products and solutions with the latest technologies for digital broadcasting, the Internet of Things (IoT), and steps towards the metaverse with augmented reality. This began to have a cost-effective and positive impact on the community and the company.
Mr. Alviz realized that his efforts had resulted in an evolved framework for developing an advanced and sustainable 5G innovation ecosystem; and he wanted to spread and scale the business, commercial, and social benefits globally to the underserved in the Global South.
To enable this, Mr. Alviz established the company in Miami, USA, to achieve success as a US-based global company. An innovation center was established in Miami, USA, and linked with the laboratory in Tolú, Colombia. IDTOLU began protecting its innovations with patent applications, and is now scaling its innovative products, solutions, and framework worldwide.
