IDTOLU started in the small and beautiful town of Santiago de Tolu, located on the Caribbean Sea of Colombia, South America. The company founder, Juan Alviz realized he was surrounded by amazing raw talent. He pulled together a team of passionate and ambitious engineers, researchers, designers, and businesspeople to start an entrepreneurial journey. To begin, the team naturally started with a research and development (R&D) technology lab in Tolu to create a hub for innovation and technology development while helping train raw talent to become world-class class tech talent.
Mr. Alviz is driven by wanting to change the world for the better. His vision of Innovation and Development with advanced Technologies for those who were underserved with the benefits of technology advances was compelling to the founding team. This inspired the name of the company as IDTOLU.

IDTOLU started working on innovative solutions to problems of access, delivering value to the common person in rural and city environments, while working hard to keep technology solutions costs low. Mr. Alviz discovered that in addition to the company’s own contributions, it was helpful to establish private-public partnerships with universities and local government to create an ecosystem to deliver affordable and innovative access to the benefits of 5G technology.
IDTOLU established a state-of-the-art facility for 5G and Cloud Native innovation that was equipped with the latest tools and equipment. The IDTOLU team developed products and solutions with the latest technologies for Digital Broadcasting, the Internet of Things (IoT), and steps towards the Metaverse with Virtual and Augmented Reality. This began to have a profitable and positive impact on the community and the company.
Mr. Alviz realized that their efforts had resulted in an evolved framework for developing an advanced, sustainable 5G innovation ecosystem; and wanted to spread and scale the entrepreneurial, commercial, and social benefits globally to the underserved in the Global South.
To enable this, Mr. Alviz established the company in Miami, US to attain success as a global US company. An innovation hub was established in Miami, US, and linked with the hub in Tolu, CO. IDTOLU began protecting its innovations with patent filings, and is now scaling its innovative products, solutions, and framework worldwide.
